The Addastone Plus Resin Bonded Surfacing System is a scatter system that provides an attractive, hard wearing and low maintenance surface by bonding or fixing loose gravel aggregates to concrete, asphalt, wood or metal.
The product offers the look of loose gravel without the issue of migrating stone and is available in a selection of natural aggregates.
The application process differs from a hand screeded, resin bound installation. A layer of resin applied to a suitable surface laid to falls and covered with loose aggregate. Once cured, the remaining loose stones are swept away to provide a bonded paving that resembles the . Thickness is governed by aggregate size. i.e. 1-3mm aggregate will have a nominal depth of 4mm.
Unlike resin bound paving, Addastone Plus resin bonded surfacing is non porous. However, it is not completely impermeable so would still require an additional waterproofing membrane for use on podium decks and terraces.
Addastone Plus is suitable for commercial and domestic use on car parks and access roads, driveways, pathways, courtyards, patios, with a life span of up to 5-15 years depending on use. Hard wearing, low maintenance, good slip resistance, decorative and a natural looking alternative to loose aggregate without the maintenance issues.
A wide range of natural and recycled aggregates are available, making it ideal for heritage sites, landscaping schemes, public parks, universities and visitor attractions. A decorative surfacing alternative to block paving, tarmac, and concrete finishes.
Resin bonded gravel surfaces are very resilient. However, life spans will depend on usage and choices of aggregate. Typical examples of expected lifespan are as follows:
Application
The improved Addastone Plus installation process replaces the need for a sealer with a process of Vacuum Assisted Captive Shot Blasting of the asphalt surface to remove dirt and residue. This enhanced preparation method ensures a good key for the resin bonded system and reduces installation time on site.
