Addaflex-R is a recycled rubber and aggregate resin bound surfacing product suitable for pedestrian projects to provide a smooth, low maintenance, flexible surface with up to 50% recycled rubber content.

Suitable for pathways and tree pits, depending on your requirements, Addaflex-R can be applied directly onto most suitable surfaces and gradients including asphalt, concrete and compacted M.O.T. Type 3.

Addaflex-R is porous, allowing water to permeate/percolate through the surface and beyond when a suitable base build-up configured for SuDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems) has been installed.

Available in 50/50 or 75/25 aggregate to rubber ratios in a select range of colours.

System features & benefits

Recycled Rubber Content

Available in 50/50 and 75/25 aggregate to recycled rubber ratios.

Lightweight

Great for balconies and roof terraces where weight is a consideration.

Durable

Expected lifespan of up to 10 years depending on surface use.

Low Maintenance

No need to sweep but can be power washed to maintain porosity.

Anti-slip

For safety, provides safety underfoot in wet and dry conditions.

Flexible

Good for tree pits in urban areas.

Porous

Excellent drainage - no surface water

This system is best for:

Footpaths

Low maintenance and comfortable underfoot.

Cycle Paths

Flexibility makes it ideal for cyclists. No loose aggregate.

Woodland Trails

Natural low maintenance walkways with flexibility underfoot.

Golf Courses

Ideal seamless option for pathways and suitable for golf shoes.

Equestrian Centres and Bridle Paths

Flexible, noise absorbing pathway surface suitable for horseshoes.

Cycle Racks and Storage Facilities

Practical, low maintenance for cycle storage and office seating areas.

Tree Pits

As a more flexible alternative to Addastone TP Tree Pit surfacing in Urban schemes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are our resin surfacing systems solvent free?

None of the products used for Addagrip’s Resin Bound or Resin Bonded external surfacing systems contain non-aqueous/non-polar solvents as part of the product formulation, ensuring that they are solvent free. Please note: small quantities of a proprietary solvent mix are offered to contractors to aid in the cleaning of tools and equipment. As this solvent mix will damage the resin surfacing, it is always recommended that tool cleaning is carried out infrequently (i.e. only at the end of application sessions), and in a well ventilated area a suitable distance away from any freshly-laid material.

What’s The Difference Between Resin Bound And Resin Bonded?

There are two different systems that use resin to fix gravel aggregates to create decorative surfacing. These are Resin Bound porous paving and Resin Bonded paving and whilst similar in name they have different properties, application methods and aesthetics. Resin bound surfacing consists of aggregate mixed with resin in specific blends using specific aggregate to resin ratios. The material is trowelled down to a smooth finish similar to a screed (with no loose stones). Depths are specified depending on aggregate size, normally 12mm, 16mm, 18mm or 24mm. Resin bonded surfacing is a scatter system which provides texture and the appearance of loose gravel. A layer of resin is applied to a suitable surface laid to falls and covered with loose aggregate. Once cured the remaining loose stones are removed. Thickness is governed by aggregate size. i.e. 1-3mm aggregate will have a nominal depth of 4mm.
