Terrabase Rustic is an innovative patented ‘no-dig’ paving system that provides a decorative and natural rustic looking permeable surface, suitable for pedestrian footpaths and areas subject to occasional trafficking by light vehicles.

Depending on your requirements, Terrabase Rustic can be applied directly onto most suitable surfaces and gradients. Potentially it can even be installed directly onto the ground as a no-dig resin bound solution for sensitive sites. An ideal replacement or overlay system for self-binding surfaces such as ‘Hoggin’ as it is fully bound and will not be washed away.

Terrabase Rustic is porous, allowing water to permeate/percolate through the surface and beyond when a suitable base build-up configured for SuDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems) has been installed.

Terrabase Rustic is available in a range of finishes, each an exact formulation of aggregates bound with specific quantities of resin. We have blends suitable for pedestrian and vehicle use – driveways, paths, patios, pool surrounds.

What’s The Difference Between Resin Bound And Resin Bonded?

There are two different systems that use resin to fix gravel aggregates to create decorative surfacing. These are Resin Bound porous paving and Resin Bonded paving and whilst similar in name they have different properties, application methods and aesthetics. Resin bound surfacing consists of aggregate mixed with resin in specific blends using specific aggregate to resin ratios. The material is trowelled down to a smooth finish similar to a screed (with no loose stones). Depths are specified depending on aggregate size, normally 12mm, 16mm, 18mm or 24mm. Resin bonded surfacing is a scatter system which provides texture and the appearance of loose gravel. A layer of resin is applied to a suitable surface laid to falls and covered with loose aggregate. Once cured the remaining loose stones are removed. Thickness is governed by aggregate size. i.e. 1-3mm aggregate will have a nominal depth of 4mm.

Our patented Terrabase Rustic and Terrabase Classic systems come with a Product Guarantee of up to 10 Years depending on project type and surface use.

How do I clean my Terrabase Rustic Driveway

General cleaning of the TERRABASE surface can be carried out by cold pressure washing up to a maximum 150 bar rating to remove dirt and grime. The water should be applied using a fan type lance which should be kept 200mm above the installed TERRABASE. Care should be taken however to prevent damage to the surface with excessive water pressure. Our full Terrabase O & M Manual is available to download as a pdf
