Abbotsford House, the former home of Sir Walter Scott, has undergone a lottery funded restoration to both the internal and external areas of the property.
As part of the overall restoration works, Addagrip approved contractor The Fraser Bruce Group was invited to install a suitable resin bound porous surface to provide a low maintenance, hard wearing decorative paving that would meet the aesthetic requirements of this heritage property. The client selected Terrabound and the 850m2 installation was carried out using 6mm Rhine Gold Terrabound Resin Surfacing at a depth of 18mm to both the courtyard and garden pathways.
It was essential throughout the works that the aesthetics of the system were not compromised and the joints were kept to a minimum. A layout plan was in place to determine the positioning of the ‘day joints’ which was achieved despite battling with poor weather conditions throughout the period.
Terrabound, part of the Addagrip range of resin bound surfacing, is available in a select range of natural aggregates and provides a seamless, porous, hard wearing, low maintenance and decorative surface ideal for landscaping and heritage schemes.
Works were carried out in April/May 2013.
