Resin bound courtyard for historic Royal Holloway university

The Royal Holloway University in Egham, Surrey has recently undergone an overhaul to its external areas within the grade II listed, Founders North and South Quadrangle. True Grip Ltd, an approved Addagrip contractor were nominated as the company most capable to achieve the precise and accurate layout and deliver the project on time.

Surfacing requirement

The requirement was to replicate the original paving which featured a chequer board design with a decorative, hard wearing resin bound product that would offer a more resilient porous paving option. Addaset Resin Bound surfacing was specified as an excellent courtyard paving option for the historic 124 year old building.

The main contractor, Spade Oak Construction Ltd, worked with True Grip to produce a mock up sample panel for approval.  Once the Addaset colours and design were agreed, the chosen finish was created using 3mm Terracotta and 6mm Wessex to produce the stunning chequered effect required for this prestigious courtyard.
