Addagrip approved contractor Allways Paving Ltd were appointed by main contractor Galliford Try to install a resin bound porous Addabound surface on the podium roof of a new development at Royal Albert Docks in London.
Surfacing requirements
The residential housing project, part of a regeneration scheme at Great Eastern Quays, required a decorative surface for the 4th floor podium rooftop to provide a seamless paved communal area for use by the residents. The new surfacing also needed to porous to eliminate collection of surface water and low maintenance.
The client selected BBA approved Addabound – our resin bound porous surfacing with a recycled element – in Summer Gold which was laid onto an open surface porous asphalt. Materials were transported to the roof top by crane to enable 140sqm of the resin bound surfacing to be completed.
The roof top landscaping was completed with decorative boulders and seating to provide a pleasant, low maintenance open space for residents to enjoy.
