Resin bound Addaset paths for zoo entrance

Addagrip approved contractor Chameleon Ways was delighted to be involved in this project for surfacing improvements at the entrance to Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse, New York.

Surfacing requirement

The client was looking for a decorative, hard wearing paving system that would be easy to maintain and could replicate the stripes of a Bengal Tiger. Chameleon Ways suggested a permeable Addaset Resin Bound Paving System in 6mm Chocolate and 6mm Trent to create the pattern.

Work commenced laying the two colours over a newly-laid porous asphalt sub-base using a digitally mapped out design which was transferred onto the asphalt base.

The 3,000 square feet entrance into the zoo was completed in July 2013 providing an eye catching walkway with excellent slip resistance and porosity to ensure safety underfoot for the zoo’s hundreds of thousands of annual visitors.

Addaset resin bound provides an ideal surfacing system for leisure projects including zoos, parks, sports facilities and play areas.
