Resin bound Addaset for paths in South Korean park

Addaset resin bound surfacing was the product of choice for the pedestrian walkways at Jungang-ro Park, Chungcheongnam-do in South Korea. The park, located in Tae-an city, offers a contemporary recreational public space within the city.

Surfacing Requirement

The client was looking for a decorative, seamless, permeable surface for the walkways and terraced areas that would be durable and low maintenance but allow for creative design. Porosity was a key requirement for the central splash play area to ensure that water from the fountains drained away quickly. Paving with good slip resistance was particularly important for pedestrian safety.

Addaset resin bound porous paving was selected using 5 aggregate blends including Maple Gold, Dorset Gold, Trent and two bespoke colours, to create natural aggregate pathways in similar shades to delineate the separate areas and offer a uniform paving solution.

The 1900sqm resin bound installation was completed in March 2022 ready for the park’s grand opening.
