Surfacing requirements
The client was looking for a selection of low maintenance resin bound surfacing options for different areas in a grey palette that would offer porous paving to create the design and complement other elements of the landscaping including a water fountain and block
Addagrip approved contractor Coatstone Ltd was invited by main contractor Wooldridge Contractors on behalf of Berkeley Homes to install over 570m2 of BBA approved Addabound resin bound Oyster blend with recycled content, 500m2 of BBA approved Addaset resin bound Scandinavian Pearl blend and 140m2 of Addaflex-R Silver Noir flexible recycled rubber and aggregate bound surfacing for the external landscaping areas in the Market Square and amphitheatre section of this new development.
With benches and brick edging already in place, Coatstone worked carefully around these fixtures installing the new resin bound seamless surface for the various sections in this organic design. The result is a decorative, hard wearing, porous paving solution which is comfortable underfoot, with good slip resistance and easy to maintain.
In addition, the Addaflex-R recycled rubber and aggregate bound surfacing provides a flexible paving for added comfort in the amphitheatre area. Despite some challenging bad weather, the surfacing was completed in October 2020.
