Stonebound paving for balconies of residential development in Liverpool

Baltic View Apartments

Stonebound resin bound balcony paving

The Baltic View Apartments are a prestige development in the area known as Baltic Triangle, close to Liverpool City Centre and a stone’s throw from the historic Albert Docks.

Surfacing requirement

The external pedestrian balconies needed upgrading to provide a more durable and functional surface, with good slip resistance for the residents, whilst also adding an aesthetically pleasing and decorative finish. NCC Streetscape had the ideal solution for the balcony paving and supplied a high performance Stonebound resin bound surfacing system that was professionally installed by Thelwell Flooring.

A contemporary Castle Grey 6mm resin bound blend was selected to provide smart new balcony walkways that would be safe underfoot and practical to maintain.

On this large project, carried out over 9 levels providing access to over 250 apartments, Thelwell not only successfully installed the new surfacing but also undertook management of all the other trades who carried out additional upgrading and refurbishment works to both the block and the apartment’s interiors.

Mike Thelwell from Thelwell Flooring was over the moon with the results: “The Addagrip system and its range of colour blends made this project extremely positive for the client and the residents – A real win-win solution. The refurbishment has upgraded the buildings both aesthetically and in the apartment values, with the Stonebound resin finish looking absolutely fantastic. We had a short window to complete the works, and the ease of installing this resin bound system really helped”

The 1210 sqm Stonebound installation of balcony paving was completed in October 2021.
